I basically set out to create a business card site for myself. While platforms like LinkedIn serve their purpose, there's something to be said for having complete control over your professional presence. I wanted to solve the problem of enhanced networking and flow—creating something that wouldn't replace existing solutions, but rather augment them with a more personal, efficient approach to business connections.
But this project became about more than just networking. It became an experiment in rapid development, pushing the boundaries of what's possible when you combine cutting-edge AI tools with focused engineering effort.
The real question was: how much could be accomplished in a single day via "vibe coding" using Cursor and ChatGPT-5 as the primary IDE and LLM engine? As someone already deeply embedded in machine learning and AI, I was curious to see how this new generation of development tools would perform under time pressure at the hands of an absolute average lifelong code monkey.
The answer is: a whole lot. A lot more than expected. The results far exceeded expectations and I went into it pretty optimistic. It has been a fun experiment, one just about everyone should do soon, as it becomes clear that the future of software development is going to be a lot more about AI and less about coding. Oddly it is also enlightening in that it should shifts the burden from rote coding to ideation, design and strategy. This is obvious and everyone is discussing it, but the details of the process maybe are difficult to completely grasp outside of the experience.
